Jesus: Savior and Judge

By Pastor Adam D'Alena, Senior Pastor at Our Christian Walk Ministry, West Palm Beach, FL 33401

In Christianity, Jesus Christ embodies a dual role that shapes the core of our faith: Savior and Judge. His mission unfolds across two distinct comings, each with a profound purpose.

The First Coming: Savior and Humility
Jesus’ initial arrival was one of grace and redemption. Born humbly in Bethlehem as a baby, He fulfilled prophecies of a suffering Messiah. Through His crucifixion and resurrection, He bore the sins of humanity, offering salvation to all who believe. This act of love reflects His heart as our Savior, inviting us into a relationship with God.

The Second Coming: Judge, Glory, and King
Jesus will return with divine authority, visible to all, to judge the world. With righteous wrath against sin—rooted in God’s love for justice—He will separate the righteous from the wicked. As King, He will establish His eternal kingdom, ruling with perfect justice. This return will be a powerful display of His glory.

The Theological Heart
This dual nature is central to Christian theology. Jesus’ first coming offers grace and forgiveness, while His second brings ultimate accountability. How we respond to His salvation now determines our standing at His judgment. God’s wrath, though fearsome, is always just, reflecting His holy hatred of sin and unwavering commitment to righteousness.

As we at Our Christian Walk Ministry reflect on this truth, let us embrace Jesus as Savior today, preparing our hearts for His return as Judge and King.
